˚° Day 32 °˚

Today I worked with the Administration department. We worked in organizing the KBI because the auditor will come tomorrow to review them. Also I supervise some worker who came from a company for recycle, to help us get rid of the unnecessary and old books.

˚° Day 31 °˚

Today I help rearranging the store, it was a total mess, we took the whole day to finish it. Also we arrange it by the department, so ever one of them decide if they want to keep them or not, if not they have to write a report for the DG. Also I take the chance to write the asset in there for the asset verification .



˚° Day 30 °˚

Today I worked with CCGP department, with laila. There job is to go to education institution to give them a career guide. So I helped her to get the names and put there Tanmia ID and username plus there phone number in one sheet. I did it for around 130 names.

˚° Day 28 & 29 °˚

Wednesday and Thursday were boring; I didn’t had much to do. I set with Jamila mostly; also I asked her if I can interview her for my report.

˚° Day 27 °˚

I worked mostly with the administration, I contact some supplier who we have contract with and there are issues.

˚° Day 26 °˚

Today Jamila was very busy working on the salary, I’m not allowed to see. So I asked Anushka if she can teach me something, but she said that she allready teaches me everything, I told her that if she want I will help her in what she’s doing, but she refused. However, the HR sector was under pressure, so I asked them if I can help, they said okey, so I helped them in writing a report at what is the certificate for each employee.

˚° Day 25 °˚

In Sunday Jamila teach me about HR Eazy which is to connect the finance detailed concerning the employee Air passenger allowance. This information must be known by the HR and Accounting department, so this is what this program about.



˚° Day 24 °˚

Today also me and Jamila worked on organizing the asset verification format because there are a specific format so it will be easy to enter it in the Oracle. After that Feddah teach me and Jamila how to do IAD which is entering the budget for the year in the Oracle.

˚° Day 23 °˚

Today we tried to finish our work quickly; we enter some Purchase orders in the Oracle, and print cheques. At 12 we had Faddah party till 3:30

˚° Day 22 °˚

We didn’t do much. Anushka was busy so she didn’t have time to teach me. Jmaila was working in the payroll, it consider confidential, so I wasn’t supposed to look. I spend my time managing for a thanks party for Feddah.

˚° Day 21 °˚

Today I worked with Feddah and Anushka and Jamila because Ministry of finance send an email that they want them to change something in there calculation in 2010. So Feddah was explaining to them what the correct strategy is and how they want it to be. So today was for fixing the income statement for 2010.

˚° Day 20 °˚

Today I spend most of my time scanning some checks for Anushka. Then I told Jamila that this is something I all ready know how to do, and I asked her to teach me knew things on the Oracle system. So she showed me the asset section on the Oracle, she explain it only, because first she have to review what I did in the asset verification, than she will enter it in the system



˚° Day 19 °˚

In Thursday I work in the budget with Jamila. Our job was to verify the amount of each sector, and how much need to be increase or decrease to reach the number that was put in on first. The category that they actually didn't benefit from last year we decrease and the one's that they have shortage in, we increase it. Then we send it to feddah, the finance manager. Also I re-arrange the filling room for the department.

˚° Day 17 °˚

I learned how to enter the petty cash in the Oracle system. We have to do 2 things, first enter it as whole, then enter each one of them as an expense.

˚° Day 16 °˚

In Monday, and finally I finished the asset verification, I send it to Jamila to check it. After that Anushka was working in the petty cash, so I asked her to let me work on it. There wasn’t much time to enter it to the system, so I only checked the invoice and if it’s matching with the information that was giving by the employee that was in charge with the petty cash box.

˚° Day 15 °˚

In Sunday we went to Abu Dhabi again. However the purpose of the meeting was different. It was about merging the financial system in UAE. They give us a plan to work on, they also mention that we have to create a team, and they will send someone to discuss this subject after that. I think this is a huge step forward for UAE, because with this new system UAE will not consider to be unopened in their financial statement. It will also be easier for both the ministry of finance and the other sectors

˚° Day 14 °˚

In day 14 I also continue working in the asset verification. Around 1 O’clock Mr. Tridib my mentor come to the office, first he talk to Jamila. After that Feddah, the manager came and discusses my situation with him. After that I continue my work on asset verification.

˚° Day 13 °˚

I spend day 13 with Jamila, I asked her about the term that I didn’t understand when I was in AD. I learned some of the roles in the government sector, also how the finance ministry wants the finance report.  

˚° Day 12 °˚

In day 12 I entered some invoice with Anushka, I also printed some check. Then I continue working on the asset verification, and enter them name by name on the excel sheet.

˚° Day 11 °˚

In Monday we went to Abu Dhabi for a meeting in the ministry of finance. There were 2 presentations, the first one was about how to complain and give suggestion online. I didn't advantage much from it because it's only with who deal with them.

The second presentation was about budgeting and how to create and  work with the budget. Also they talk about many other thing which wasn’t that clear for me, I will ask Jamila to explain it when she’s free  

˚° Day 10 °˚

In Sunday I sit with Anushka and try to enter the assets on an excel sheet. After that she asked me to do it alone. I finished Fujairah, RAK and Umm al Qwain. I had the remaining was for Ajman's. I will do it in Tuesday because I have to go to Abu Dhabi tomorrow.

˚° Day 9 °˚

We went to Fujairah branch to finish the asset verification. It was the same with RAK and Ajman, we classify each asset. Most of the offices there were damaged. The damaged assets are entered to the system and than right off.

˚° Day 8. °˚

In this day we postponed our last visit for asset verification which will be to Fujairah. The manager told us that we had to work on the salary for the employee because this month have 28 day only and if it's not finish before Thursday and send it to the bank before the weekend. So Jamila worked on the salary, and because it's confidential I worked with Anushka. I entered invoice and print Cheque on the Oracle system.

˚° Day 7 °˚

In Day 7 we continue with the asset verification, the next branch was RAK. We went there; the office was medium size, so we took around 2 hour. Then we return to the main branch. Also in this 2 day I attend some IT class, it’s like ICDL. However, the manager said that I might not get a certification because it’s only for their employee.

˚° Day 6 °˚

Today the Direct manager Feddah asked us, the financial department, to finish the asset verification, it’s like counting the asset that was brought by Tanmia and enters them on the system to right off the damaged one, and order a new staff if it’s necessary. As the branch that I’m working in is the main branch, we have to visit the other branches around the country. First we went to Ajman branch, we meet the receptionist there and starts classify the asset. After finishing there was time left, so we went to Umm Al Quwain branch, we didn’t stay much because the branch was very small, so we took around 45 minute. After that we returned to the main branch.

˚° Day 5 °˚

In day 5 different things happen, first Jamila informed me that she is not coming this day. However, when I arrived no one from the finance department was there. I was shocked, when I talk to a person from the HR department, she told me that Anushka called and she might not came because her son is sick. So immediately I went to the Direct Manager “Feddah” and I ask her to give me work to do. She asked me to help her assistant Maryam on the Strategic goal, so we sit together and work on it. While I’m working, Anushka arrived, and told me that she will start something knew on the Oracle software. So I moved from maryam to Anushka, later on maryam called me and tell me to do the work with her. Although it was exhausted, I enjoyed working in 2 things. Today I learned about data Loda, which I had problem with the last time. It’s easy to work on and better to enter it in the Oracle.

˚° Day 3 & 4 °˚

Sorry for delay... I forget my notebook in the office on Wednesday

Intel know I like the Oracle program, every day I learn something new .



Day 3 and 4 was the same for me... I learned more more about Oracle system.. Also I enter some invoices myself.. I learned how to create supplier, enter invoice and how to release payment. The only different between Tuesday and Wednesday  is that on Wednesday I learned about Purchase, and the concept of Miscellaneous which is direct receipt "without invoice", and standard for example, selling book from research department than issue invoice, after that make a receipt

˚° Day 2 °˚

On the second day I sit with Anushka, who is an accountant in Tanmia.  First she explains the account code in Tanmia, than she gives me a brief introduction about the Oracle system. She talks about the Invoice payable, payment invoice, suppliers and purchases model. She also said that starting from tomorrow she will show me how to enter it in the system. Also I helped her to arrange the finance folders and file.

After that Jamila Yousef who is a finance officer, explain for me a little bit about data loda, but I didn't observe it very well because she was busy and she was explain it very fast. I will ask more about it some other time.

˚° Day 1 °˚

In my first visit to Tanmia I was very nervous, I arrived about time, I asked about the finance department, but my supervisor wasn't there yet. I stay with 2 employees from the finance sector. When my supervisor arrived she was very busy, so I spend most of my time with Jamila from the finance department. While I was waiting, I asked her to talk to me about the company more, because when I log in to their web-site there were a few things I didn't understand. First, I told her that I want to know more about the government sector, than about the company itself. I understand that the government sector is very different from the college and the private sector, mostly on its procedures, working hour and the work environment. At 2 O'clock my supervisor feddah called me and spend some time with me, than she told me that I will be receiving my tasks starting of tomorrow because there wasn't much time left.
